Taoism
Taoists believe Taoism was first taught by a man named Laozi, who lived around the same time as Confucius. The main teaching of Taoism is the need to retire from worldly concerns and follow the Tao, or the way. Taoism says that nature works in harmony and people should see themselves as a part of nature to find happiness and healthiness. Other beliefs include becoming immortal. Taoists also developed Kung Fu and the idea of the yin and yang.

Buddhism
Buddhism was founded in India in the sixth century BCE, and expresses the teachings of Buddha , who gave up worldly pleasures and devoted his life to search for enlightenment. Buddhists believe that suffering is caused by desire and that people have multiple lives. In each life people should try to live better until they reach nirvana. Then it is unnecessary to be reborn as nirvana is a state of bliss free from the cares of the world.
